\u2020\u00a0VOTERS\u2019 MEETING TO BE HELD JUNE 5\u00a0 <\/b>After the 9:00 am Sunday\u00a0\u00a0 Service on June 5, a Voters\u2019 Meeting has been scheduled to vote\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 regarding certain amendments to the Church Constitution and to\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 review and vote on the Ministry Description proposed by the Call\u00a0 Committee.\u00a0 Copies of the amendments to the Church Constitution\u00a0 and the Ministry Description are available on the round table.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0SUMMER WORSHIP\u00a0 <\/b>Starting next Sunday, June 5, for the summer months, we will have one worship service on Sunday and it will begin at 9:00 am.\u00a0 Sunday School and Bible class will be at 10:30 am.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0WORK DAY\u00a0 <\/b>A church work day has been scheduled for this Saturday, June 4, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.\u00a0 The Trustees will be in need of as much help as possible with mostly trimming and yard work and a few inside tasks.\u00a0 Please, consider coming out for these two hours to help, many hands make the load light!<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0SUMMER BRUNCH\u00a0 <\/b>The LWML will host their annual Summer Brunch for all ladies of the congregation on Saturday, June 11, at 10:00 am.\u00a0 It will be held at the Rollins Creek Club House, 1900 Blue Bird Way, in Carthage.\u00a0 Each lady is asked to bring a brunch item to share.\u00a0 Come enjoy a relaxing, fun morning with your fellow women from Good Shepherd.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING BIBLE STUDY\u00a0 <\/b>For the youth attending the 2016 National Youth Gathering in July, there is a Sunday evening Bible study this evening at 7:00 pm, in the youth room.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0FLOWER CHART\u00a0 <\/b>Our flower fund is running low and there are several empty dates coming up on the calendar for the next few months.\u00a0 If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall by the water fountain.\u00a0 If you would rather help out by making a small donation to the flower fund that would also be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERINGS\u00a0 <\/b>For the first couple of quarters in\u00a0\u00a0 2016, both the adult and the children\u2019s Sunday School offerings will be going to Children\u2019s Haven in Joplin.\u00a0 If you would like to monitor our progress, keep an eye on our bulletin board downstairs that will track our Sunday School offerings!<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0THIS MORNING<\/b> three of our young members will publicly confess\u00a0 their faith through the Rite of Confirmation during the late service.\u00a0 They are:<\/p>\n
Jesse Paul H.<\/i><\/b>, who is the son of Jennifer W., stepson of Adam W., and grandson of Linda B.\u00a0 Jesse\u2019s confirmation verse is \u201cGod so loved the world, that he gave his only \u00a0 Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have\u00a0\u00a0 eternal life.\u201d John 3:16\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cI chose this verse because it helps me remember that God sacrificed his only son to save us from our sins.\u00a0 I trust in him to give me eternal life like this verse promises.\u00a0 When I read this verse out of the Bible it makes me think how I can help others\u00a0 believe in God like I believe in God.\u00a0 It also reminds me of a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 country song verse that says I learned all I need to know from John 3:16.\u201d\u00a0 (Jesse H.)<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/i>I chose this verse because I believe singing hymns is one of the best ways to worship God. Also because we should fear God, but we also should trust him and love him. We should trust him because he loves us and we are in his arms.\u201d (Emma N.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason I picked Romans 12:9 to be my verse was because it shows us how to live, not only helping us get a basic instruction for our life but giving an instruction on how to live a more in depth life in God.\u00a0 This verse doesn\u2019t just tell us what we should do but it states what we shouldn\u2019t do and creates a brief understanding of how Jesus lived and how we can be like him.\u00a0 Why live this good life?\u00a0 Well, God wants us to live this \u2018good\u2019 life because he first loved us, and out of this love, he sent his son to save us, that \u00a0 \u00a0we wouldn\u2019t be too caught up and drowned on our own sin but \u00a0 instead we would be focusing on him and how he wants us to live.\u201d\u00a0 (Lydia N.)<\/p>\n
