{"id":1587,"date":"2016-05-08T09:39:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-08T15:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gslc-carthage.dreamhosters.com\/?p=1587"},"modified":"2016-05-08T09:39:00","modified_gmt":"2016-05-08T15:39:00","slug":"announcements-may-8-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gslc-carthage.org\/?p=1587","title":{"rendered":"Announcements &#8212; May 8, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>IN OUR PRAYERS<\/b> <b><i>\u00a0Lesley G.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home from hip surgery;<b><i>\u00a0Stella Q.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Sue V.<\/i><\/b>, recovering from surgery at St. Luke\u2019s;<b><i> Kathy P.<\/i><\/b>, suffering health issues; <b><i>Jack H.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home;<b><i> Paula B.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Sara P.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Aaron P.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Sara T.<\/i><\/b>, undergoing treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>ANNUAL FRIDAY NIGHT FAMILY CAMPOUT\u00a0 <\/b>This Friday to Saturday is the annual GSLC Friday Night Family Campout.\u00a0 This event will be held at the \u201cThe Fishing Hole\u201d (Dale &amp; Lee Ann Beshears\u2019 property south of Lockwood).\u00a0 There is sign up sheet and information on the round table in the narthex.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN <\/b>will be singing at the beginning of the late service today for Mother\u2019s Day.\u00a0 Ladies, please take a carnation as you leave today, a gift from GSLC Sunday School!<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>OLD FASHIONED POTLUCK\u00a0 <\/b>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lwml.org\" target=\"_blank\">LWML<\/a> is hosting a birthday potluck for <b><i>Pastor Mackie <\/i><\/b>and <b><i>Earl Kirn <\/i><\/b>on Sunday, May 22. They both have birthdays on May 23<sup>rd<\/sup>!\u00a0 The potluck will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the late service.\u00a0 Birthday cake and ice cream will be provided.\u00a0 Bring your favorite dish\/dishes to share and help us celebrate with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>SUMMER WORSHIP\u00a0 <\/b>Starting June 5, for the summer months, we will have one worship service on Sunday and it will begin at 9:00 am.\u00a0\u00a0 Sunday School and Bible class will be at 10:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>CALL COMMITTEE UPDATE\u00a0 <\/b>Thank you to those that participated in the survey. The District has the information and is accumulating the results for the Call\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Committee to review. The task of preparing a Ministry Description will guide us through the remainder of the Call process. The Ministry Description will be reviewed and approved by the Voters in a special meeting that will likely occur during the early part of June.
