<b><i>Ruth H.<\/i><\/b>,<b><i> Letitia L.<\/i><\/b>,<b><i> Carol L.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home;<b><i> Paula B.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>April <\/i><\/b><b><i>K.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Sara <\/i><\/b><b><i>P.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Sara T.<\/i><\/b>, undergoing treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>INTENTIONAL INTERIM\u00a0 <\/b>Pastor Roger Mackie has accepted the call to be Good Shepherd\u2019s Intentional Interim Pastor.\u00a0 His installation service will be at 2:00 pm today, followed by a reception at 3:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>GUEST PASTOR <\/b>\u00a0It is wonderful to have Pastor Schumacher, retired pastor from Grace in Aurora, and his wife, Elaine, here again today.\u00a0 Thank you, Pastor Schumacher, for handling the service.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>VBS BEGINS\u00a0 <\/b>Vacation Bible School starts this evening, from 6:00 &#8211; 8:00 pm, with a light dinner at 5:30 pm.\u00a0 The offerings from VBS this year will go toward \u201cStuff the Bus\u201d.\u00a0 There is a list in the bulletin of the things that are needed, and of course, money is always appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP REMINDER\u00a0 <\/b>The LYF will be handling the game station for VBS, which starts this evening and goes through July 30.\u00a0 If you are not planning on being here for the 5:30 dinner, plan on coming around 6:15 pm.\u00a0 Please be here as much as possible, because it takes several hands to keep the station running smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY <\/b>\u00a0The Thursday morning Bible Study group will take a break for the rest of July until Pastor Mackie arrives.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>STEPHEN <\/b><b>MINISTRY NEWS <\/b>\u00a0Earl Kirn has recently been trained as a Stephen Ministry leader.\u00a0 He joins Janet Chambers who was previously trained as a leader.\u00a0 They\u00a0both are capable and willing to teach and train additional Stephen Ministers.\u00a0 Tentatively, we are planning a class starting in the fall.\u00a0 After the service on August 2, several members of the\u00a0recently created Stephen Minister Board will be available in the conference room to provide additional information and to answer questions about becoming a Stephen Minister.\u00a0 We encourage anyone interested in this ministry to stop in and learn more about this distinctively Christian caregiving Ministry.\u00a0 Feel free to ask questions at any time of any of our current Board members, Earl K., Janet C., Clarice O., Brenda D., and Curt S.<\/p>\n<p><b>VOTERS\u2019 MEETING CHANGE\u00a0 <\/b>This quarter\u2019s regular Voters\u2019 Meeting\u00a0has been rescheduled from Sunday, August 2, to Sunday, August 9, at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT <\/b><b>INSTALLATION\u00a0 <\/b>Thank you to all those who have helped with the installation of the new playground!\u00a0 It was wonderful to have so many people involved in putting it together.\u00a0 A special thanks goes to Earl Kirn, Bill C., and Bob S. who spent many extra hours in the heat (and rain) between Saturdays finishing up the holes, pouring concrete, etc.\u00a0 What a special gift of their time and talents!<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>DEVOTIONAL BOOKS\u00a0 <\/b>There are several books on the information desk in the narthex, please feel free to take anything you would like.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>SUMMER WORSHIP\u00a0 <\/b>For the summer months, we are having one\u00a0\u00a0 worship service on Sunday and it begins at 9:00 am.\u00a0 Sunday School and\u00a0\u00a0 Bible class are at 10:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>ASSISTIVE LISTENING\u00a0 <\/b>If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS <\/b>are available in the nurse\u2019s office\u00a0\u00a0 after the service.\u00a0 You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>PRAYER BEARS <\/b>are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2020\u00a0IN OUR PRAYERS \u00a0Jack H., at Freeman Hospital with low kidney function;
