\u2020\u00a0INTENTIONAL INTERIM\u00a0 <\/b>Pastor Roger Mackie has accepted the call to be Good Shepherd\u2019s Intentional Interim Pastor.\u00a0 His installation service has been set for 2:00 pm, next Sunday, July 26, followed by a reception at\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 3:00 pm.\u00a0 Pastor Mackie will be at the Sunday service that morning, so there will be some time to meet him before the Adult Bible Class.<\/p>\n

\u2020\u00a0VBS KICK-OFF PARTY\u00a0 <\/b>Come out to the Carthage Municipal Park this afternoon for this year\u2019s VBS kick-off.\u00a0 The fun will start at 4:00 pm\u00a0\u00a0 with rides at Kiddie Land.\u00a0 There is a cook-out at 5:00 pm.\u00a0 Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.\u00a0 Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.\u00a0 The festivities will conclude with swimming at the Carthage Municipal Pool from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0VBS REGISTRATION\u00a0 <\/b>Vacation Bible School will be held July 26 – 30, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with a light dinner at 5:30 pm each evening.\u00a0 There are registration forms on the round table in the narthex.\u00a0 Also, there is a sign up sheet for food donations that are used to provided dinner each evening.\u00a0 The offerings from VBS this year will go toward \u201cStuff the Bus\u201d.\u00a0 There is a list on the information desk of the things that are needed, and of course, money is always appreciated.<\/p>\n
LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP REMINDER\u00a0 <\/b>The LYF will be handling the game station for VBS, which runs for July 26 – 30.\u00a0 If you are not planning on being there for the 5:30 dinner, plan on coming around 6:15 pm.\u00a0 Please be there as much as possible, because it takes several hands to keep the station running smoothly.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0VOTERS\u2019 MEETING CHANGE\u00a0 <\/b>This quarter\u2019s regular voters\u2019 meeting has been rescheduled from Sunday, August 2, to Sunday, \u00a0August 9, at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME<\/b>\u00a0 There are two opportunities coming up this summer to see some baseball and hear The Shepherd\u2019s Own!\u00a0 On Sat., Aug. 1, the Shepherd\u2019s Own will be singing the National Anthem at an Arkansas Naturals\u2019 ballgame and on Fri., Aug. 7, they will be singing the National Anthem at Lutheran Night at the ballpark for a Springfield Cardinals\u2019 game.\u00a0 There are sign-up sheets on the information desk in the narthex for discounted tickets and deadlines for when the ticket money is due.\u00a0 Please see your July newsletter for more info.\u00a0 Contact Jim G. if you have questions.<\/p>\n

\u2020\u00a0ASSISTIVE LISTENING\u00a0 <\/b>If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS <\/b>are available in the nurse\u2019s office\u00a0\u00a0 after the service.\u00a0 You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0PRAYER BEARS <\/b>are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.<\/p>\n
