{"id":1382,"date":"2015-04-12T12:19:14","date_gmt":"2015-04-12T18:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gslc-carthage.dreamhosters.com\/?p=1382"},"modified":"2015-04-26T11:57:23","modified_gmt":"2015-04-26T17:57:23","slug":"1382","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gslc-carthage.org\/?p=1382","title":{"rendered":"Announcements &#8212; April 12, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>IN OUR PRAYERS<\/b><b><i>\u00a0Esther M.<\/i><\/b>, at Maple Tree Terrace in Carthage;<b><i> Ruth H.<\/i><\/b>,receiving rehab at NHC Healthcare of Joplin; <b><i>Heather U.<\/i><\/b>, at home undergoing further medical care;<b><i> Jody G.<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0 in extended care;<b><i> Luverne C.<\/i><\/b>,<b><i> Ellie H.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Carol L.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home;<b><i> Paula B.<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0<b><i>April K.<\/i><\/b>, undergoing treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>EASTER EGG HUNT\u00a0 <\/b>THANK YOU to those of you who donated goodies for the Easter egg hunt.\u00a0 The youth had a great time putting the eggs together and hiding them and the children enjoyed this fun tradition!<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>OUR THANKS <\/b>to everyone who helped with the Easter Services, the Easter breakfast and the special activities for our children.\u00a0 You are greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>SCRIPTURE STUDY<\/b>\u00a0 Since Earl Kirn is away at Stephen Ministry Training, the Wednesday morning Scripture Study Group will not meet this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>THE LYF <\/b>wants to say a special <b><i>THANK YOU <\/i><\/b>for the love offering taken up at the Easter Breakfast.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great start to their fundraising efforts for the National Youth Gathering in July of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>PASTOR\u2019S CLASS\u00a0 <\/b>If you are interested in learning more about the Lutheran Church and it\u2019s teachings, are interested in joining the congregation, or would like a refresher course in church doctrine, Pastor\u00a0\u00a0 is having an informational class on Sunday afternoon, April 19, from\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1:00-6:00 pm.\u00a0 The class is informal and you are encouraged to bring along your questions.\u00a0 Everyone is invited and welcome.\u00a0 Please let Pastor know if you are planning to attend.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>GRIEF SUPPORT\u00a0 <\/b>For April, our Comfort in Sorrow (Grief Support Gathering) will meet on the fourth Thursday, April 23, instead of the third Thursday.\u00a0 The group will meet at 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>LWML SPRING RALLY\u00a0 <\/b>The LWML Spring Rally will be held on Sunday, April 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin.\u00a0 It is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm with registration starting at 2:30 pm.\u00a0 All ladies (and men) are invited to attend these rallies.\u00a0 They are a wonderful afternoon of spiritual growth and spending time with fellow Lutherans.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP <\/b>will meet next Sunday at 6:00 pm at the church.\u00a0 The parents are invited to attend.\u00a0 There will be \u00a0a discussion about the National Gathering in 2016 and the upcoming fundraising that needs to be accomplished.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b><a title=\"Lutheran Women's Missionary League\" href=\"http:\/\/www,lwml.org\" target=\"_blank\">LWML<\/a> RALLY IN-GATHERING\u00a0 <\/b>At each LWML rally there is an in-gathering.\u00a0 This year\u2019s is for Soul\u2019s Harbor Refuge Center.\u00a0 Our women will be taking goods for this to the spring rally.\u00a0 Anyone who would like to contribute to this is welcome to place items in the basket provided in the narthex.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>ATTENTION <\/b><b>ALL GRADUATES\u00a0 <\/b>If you are graduating from high school, college, tech school, etc. we want to hear about it.\u00a0 Please get a picture with a bio to the church office by April 24.\u00a0 We want to publish your accomplishments and future plans in the May issue of the Shepherd\u2019s Staff.\u00a0 Parents, we may need your help with this, we don\u2019t want to leave anyone out, but if we don\u2019t have the information we can\u2019t print it.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>CHURCH COUNCIL <\/b>will meet this evening at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>FLOWER CHART\u00a0 <\/b>There are several empty spots coming up on the flower chart.
