{"id":1362,"date":"2015-02-22T10:42:12","date_gmt":"2015-02-22T16:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gslc-carthage.dreamhosters.com\/?p=1362"},"modified":"2015-02-22T10:42:12","modified_gmt":"2015-02-22T16:42:12","slug":"announcements-february-22-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gslc-carthage.org\/?p=1362","title":{"rendered":"Announcements &#8212; February 22, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>IN <\/b><b>OUR PRAYERS<\/b><b><i>\u00a0Tom D.<\/i><\/b>, awaiting tests;<b><i> Ellie H.<\/i><\/b>, recovering from surgery for a fractured femur at Freeman Rehab; <b><i>Sue\u00a0<\/i><\/b><b><i>V.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home from shoulder surgery; <b><i>Jody G.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Audrey M.<\/i><\/b>, Janice H.\u2019s mother, in extended care;<b><i> Ruth H.<\/i><\/b>, <b><i>Carol L.<\/i><\/b>, recovering at home;<b><i> Paula B.<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0<b><i>April K.<\/i><\/b>, undergoing treatment for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>MARY <\/b><b>FISCHER\u00a0 <\/b>Mary Lou Fischer, 87, of Golden City, was received into the arms of her Savior Monday, February 16, 2015, at her home.\u00a0 Mary was born January 8, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.\u00a0 She was the daughter of Ollie Hensley and Gladys \u201cCarney\u201d Hensley.\u00a0 On July 17, 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Elmo Fischer.\u00a0 To this union three children were born: Roger, Jeanne Anne and Valerie.\u00a0 Elmo preceded her in death on February 6, 1988.\u00a0 Mary was a long time resident of the area, raising her family and helping on the family farm.\u00a0 She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Carthage and was also a member of their quilting circle.\u00a0 Burial was in Meinert Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.\u00a0 Memorial Contributions can be made to The Lutheran Hour or the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>WEDDING INVITATION<\/b>\u00a0 Because you have shared in our lives by \u00a0your friendship and love, we, Bradley M. and Donya A. together with our parents, invite you to share the beginning of our new life together when\u00a0 we exchange vows Saturday, the Seventh of March, at four o\u2019clock in the\u00a0\u00a0 afternoon.\u00a0 The couple will have a private reception.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>70 AND OVER DINNER\u00a0 <\/b>The youth group will be serving a four-course meal to those in our congregation who are 70 years of age (three score and ten) and older Sunday evening, March 8, at 5:00.\u00a0 It is one way our youth wish to show their appreciation for these seasoned congregational members.\u00a0 More details later, but mark your calendars now for this wonderful evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>THE LADIES\u2019 NIGHT OUT DINNER\u00a0 <\/b>was a very enjoyable evening of wonderful entertainment and great food!\u00a0 Thanks so much to Lora Wacker for heading this event up and all those who helped her put it together!<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>NOTE OF THANKS\u00a0 <\/b>We want to say a special thanks to Doug S. for clearing our parking lot this week after the snow and ice!\u00a0 It was wonderful to have a cleared lot for our morning Bible Classes and Ash Wednesday Services this week.
