Dr. Kevin G. is our guest speaker this morning for both services.\u00a0 He will also lead the 9:30 Bible Class.\u00a0 Dr. G. is the son of Jim &amp; Judy G. and uncle to confirmand Brooke G.\u00a0 He is the pastor of Village Lutheran Church, Ladue, MO and the Second Vice President of the Missouri District.\u00a0 We are glad to have him and his family here with us for this special day.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>GUEST <\/b><b>LECTORS\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>Luther and Gloria D., the maternal grandparents of Ethan N., are our guest lectors this morning.\u00a0 Luther is a DCE and Gloria is a Deaconess.\u00a0 Both are retired and living in Eureka, MO.\u00a0 We are glad to have them here for this special service.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>FAMILY CAMPOUT <\/b>\u00a0Mark your calendars, this year\u2019s annual \u201cfamily\u00a0 campout\u201d has been scheduled for May 30-31 at Dale &amp; Lee Ann B.\u2019 property south of Lockwood.\u00a0 There is information and a sign up sheet on the round table in the narthex.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>SUMMER WORSHIP\u00a0 <\/b>Starting next Sunday, June 1, we will have one\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 worship service on Sunday and it will begin at 9:00 am.\u00a0 Sunday School and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bible Class will be at 10:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>GEARING UP FOR VBS\u00a0 <\/b>This year\u2019s Vacation Bible School, Weird Animals, will run from July 27-31.\u00a0 Christian Education would like to get shirts for all the children attending and all the adults volunteering this year.\u00a0 There is an order form on the round table in the narthex where you can designate your size if you plan on attending.\u00a0 Also, be looking for information coming soon about the VBS kick-off event scheduled for Sunday, July 13.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORD\u00a0 <\/b>Lee Ann B. would like to offer a Bible study during the summer months when we have one service.\u00a0 The topic of this study would come from the Lutheran Hour resources and would deal with <b><i>defending your faith<\/i><\/b><i>.<\/i><b><i>\u00a0 <\/i><\/b>The class could be held from 8:00 am &#8211; 8:45 am on Sunday mornings before the 9:00 am service or during the 10:30 am Bible class time.\u00a0 Lee Ann would like to find out how much interest there would be for this study, so if you have an interest or if you have any questions, please contact Lee Ann.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020\u00a0<b>BIBLE STUDIES<\/b>\u00a0 The Wednesday and Thursday morning Bible studies will resume this Wednesday &amp; Thursday, May 28 &amp; 29.<\/p>\n<p><b>NURSERY ATTENDANT\u00a0 <\/b>We are in need of a Nursery Attendant for the 10:45 worship service on Sunday mornings.\u00a0 The Attendant must be 18 years or older, be able to lift children, must pass a background check, care for the children in the nursery starting at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings, keep the Nursery clean and sanitized, and maintain appropriate and safe toys.\u00a0 The position pays $20.00 per Sunday.\u00a0 You may pick up a complete position description in the church office.\u00a0 If you are interested, please leave a brief resume with the church office.\u00a0 Please do<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2020\u00a0IN OUR PRAYERS\u00a0 Clarence H., recovering after a collapsed lung;Mary C., Mike D., and Tim S., undergoing treatment for\u00a0 cancer. \u2020\u00a0JR CONFIRMATION\u00a0 Five of our young folks will publicly confess their faith this morning through the Rite of Confirmation during the late service.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 They are: Garrett William B., son of Jeff and Diane B.
