OUR THANKS to the Sunday School children and their leaders for singing for us today in the late service.  It is always appreciated. 

BOARD OF EDUCATION  The Board is meeting next Sunday after the late service and you are invited to join us as we seek to make the education programs for our children the best we can.  Lunch is provided, so come on down.

VOTERS’ MEETING  The regular Voters’ meeting for April will be held at 7:00 p.m. next Sunday.  Along with our regular business, a final decision will be made on having one worship service this summer at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 10:45 a.m.  Come join us for this important meeting.

REMINDER GRADUATES  Please get those bios and pictures into the church office for next month’s Shepherd’s Staff….We don’t want to miss anyone!

FAMILY CAMPOUT PLANNED  Wishin’ to go fishin’?  Here’s your chance for some great family time along with some great fishing time.  A “family campout” is planned for May 4-5 at Dale & Leann Beshears’ property south of Lockwood.  (map provided)  There is a large stocked pond with room to camp for the night.  Contact Dale with any questions.  Let us know if you’re interested by signing your name on the sign up sheet in the narthex. 

MARRIAGE RETREAT  Plans are being made for a marriage retreat on May 11-12.  If you have an interest in attending, please write your name and phone number on the specified sheet in the narthex.  More information is in the April Shepherd’s Staff.  You may also visit with Darren or Kara Gallup, who are heading up the retreat.  The retreat will be at the Meadows Resort in Branson, MO.  There will be no cost to you for the room.  Limited space, so sign up now!

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.  We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

CD’S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE  Audio tapes and CD’s of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. 

ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

PASTOR’S INFORMATION CLASS will meet this afternoon in the Fellowship Hall, 1:00-6:00 p.m.

COUNCIL MEETING This evening at 7:00 p.m., all members of the Church Council are asked to attend. Members, make plans to attend the voters’ meeting, Sunday, April 29 at 7:00 pm.

CONCERT Several of our church members are singing with the Joplin Oratorio Chorus in this year’s production of Handel’s Messiah presented by the MSSU Department of Music. The production takes place this afternoon at Central Christian Center, 410 South Virginia, Joplin at 3:00 pm. Those singing with the chorus are Jan G., Michael G., Karen M., Mary S. and Sue S.

CONGRATULATIONS to Corey and Rhonda S. at the birth of their daughter, Violet Claire. Violet was born Thursday, April 12, weighing 9 lbs., 5 oz., and measured 22” long. Maternal grandparents are Ron and Barbara S.

EASTER EGG HUNT Once again the Board of Education (with a lot of help from our Youth Group) is sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The excitement begins right after breakfast today.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES There will be a church trustee meeting Wednesday, April 11, 7:30 pm. Trustees, please mark your calendar.

OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS meet this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Bring something good to eat and join in the fun.
