† IN OUR PRAYERS  Ralph L., recovering after a heart procedure; Ruth H., Letitia L., receiving rehab at NHC Healthcare of Joplin; Carol L., recovering at home; Paula B., April K., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be singing at the beginning of the late service this morning for Mothers’ Day!

† SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING  Next Sunday evening at 7:00 pm there will be a voters’ meeting to act on the Elders’ recommendation to issue a call to Pastor Roger Mackie to serve as our Intentional Interim   Pastor.  Pastor Mackie’s home town is Rockford, MI.  More information will be shared at the meeting.

† A THANK YOU  To our Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Family,  Wanting to say a very sincere, “Thank You” for your thoughts, prayers and cards you sent to us, on behalf of my mother, Eileen W.  She really enjoyed attending church and attending the church functions when her health would allow it.  We all are very grateful for your generosity and support that was given to her during those times and for us now.  God Bless You All.     ~Very Sincerely,   Jan B. & Family

† OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS will meet this Thursday evening at 6:00 pm.

† BAKED POTATO DINNER  Mark your calendar!  The Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) is planning a Baked Potato Dinner for Sunday, May 31, after the late service.  There will be a potato bar with a variety of toppings, drinks, and desserts!  This will be a fundraising event for the  National Youth Gathering that the group will be attending in the summer  of 2016.

† ANNUAL FRIDAY NIGHT FAMILY CAMPOUT has been scheduled for May 29 – 30.  This event will be held at the “The Fishing Hole” (Dale & Lee Ann B.’ property south of Lockwood).  There is information and a sign up sheet on the round table in the narthex.

† BIRTHDAY OPEN HOUSE FOR STELLA Q.  Next Sunday, May 17, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, there will be an open house to celebrate Stella Q.’s 94th birthday.  It will be held at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in the dining area on the southeast side.  Cards can be sent to her at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, 1220 E. Fairview, Rm. 307, Carthage, MO  64836.

† SUMMER WORSHIP  Starting June 7, for the summer months, we will have one worship service on Sunday and it will begin at 9:00 am.   Sunday School and Bible class will be at 10:30 am.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your  wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† KIDS’ FISHING DAY  Today from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, there will be a kids’ day of fishing at “The Fishing Hole” (Dale & Lee B.’s home, Southeast of Lockwood).  Bring along a picnic lunch, lawn chair, and one or more kids.  Fishing tackle is available if you don’t have your own.  A campfire and grill will also be available.  There is a map on the round table in the narthex.  If you have any  questions, please call (417) 310-2923.

† BAPTISM  We rejoice with Kahlie and Tim M. at the baptism of their son, Connor Talbert M., this morning during the late service.  Connor was born March 13, 2015.  His sponsors are Jason O. and Gretchen N.  His proud grandparents, Steve & Diana B. and Kenny P., and great-grandparents, Sylvia E. and Monte & Lydia M., are celebrating with him today.  We ask God’s blessings  on Connor and his family.

† SCRIPTURE STUDY  The Wednesday morning Scripture Study Group is back to meeting at their usual time, 10:30 am.

† VBS PLANNING MEETING  Today, after the late service, there will be a VBS planning meeting.  Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

† LWML SPRING RALLY  The LWML Spring Rally will be held today  at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin.  It is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm with registration starting at 2:30 pm.  All ladies (and men) are invited to attend these rallies.  They are a wonderful afternoon of spiritual growth and spending time with fellow Lutherans.

† A VOTERS’ MEETING will be held today at 7:00 pm.  There is an insert in the bulletin this morning outlining an addition to the GSLC Constitution concerning Stephen Ministry that will need to be voted on at this meeting.

† SCRIPTURE STUDY will meet this Wednesday morning at their   usual time, 10:30 am.

† THE LYF wants to say a special THANK YOU for the love offering taken up at the Easter Breakfast.  It’s a great start to their fundraising efforts for the National Youth Gathering in July of 2016.

† PASTOR’S CLASS  If you are interested in learning more about the Lutheran Church and its teachings, are interested in joining the congregation, or would like a refresher course in church doctrine, Pastor   is having an informational class this afternoon from 1:00-6:00 pm.  The class is informal and you are encouraged to bring along your questions.  Everyone is invited and welcome.  Please let Pastor know if you are     planning to attend.

† GRIEF SUPPORT  Our Comfort in Sorrow (Grief Support Gathering) will meet this Thursday, April 23, at 5:00 pm.

† LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP will meet this evening at 6:00 pm at the church.  The parents are invited to attend.  There will be a discussion about the National Gathering in 2016 and the upcoming fundraising that needs to be accomplished.

† A VOTERS’ MEETING will be held next Sunday, April 26, at 7:00 pm.  There is an insert in the bulletin this morning outlining an addition to the GSLC Constitution concerning Stephen Ministry that will need to be voted on at this meeting. 

† LWML RALLY IN-GATHERING  At each LWML rally there is an  in-gathering.  This year’s is for Soul’s Harbor Refuge Center.  Our women will be taking goods for this to the spring rally.  Anyone who would like to contribute to this is welcome to place items in the basket provided in the narthex.

ATTENTION ALL GRADUATES  If you are graduating from high school, college, tech school, etc. we want to hear about it.  Please get a  picture with a bio to the church office by April 24.  We want to publish your accomplishments and future plans in the May issue of the Shepherd’s
