The Not-So-Silent Night

Children’s Christmas Program
The Christmas story is such a beautiful story, and when told through the voices and faces of our children, it becomes even more special.  Be sure to attend this year’s program entitled, The Not-So-Silent Night, presented on Sunday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:00. The children have been practicing during the Sunday School hour and will also have rehearsals after the late service on two Sundays, the 12th and 19th. There will be a light lunch provided before the Sunday practices.  Please be diligent in seeing that your children attend Sunday School and the rehearsals.  It’s their time to shine and it also reinforces to them the importance of this wonderful time, the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Wednesday Bible Study

The Wednesday Bible study group, which meets at 6:30 pm., has begun a new study titled, Coffee with the Savior. The study is inspired by Jeremiah 29:12–13: “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

Topics include God’s desire that we come to Him, that we pray to Him, and that we receive His gifts. The concluding chapter encourages everyone to continue their commitment through dedicated personal study of God’s Word and recognizing their value in the Body of Christ. Sound interesting?

Come join in, everyone is welcome.

Rally Day Round-up and Chuck Wagon Dinner Sept. 12

Rally Day, the day the Sunday School children celebrate the beginning of a new Sunday school year.  Some will change rooms, while others might stay in the same room one more year, but all will have new “classmates”.  It’s a fun day, an exciting day.

There are big plans for this year.  It’s a Rally Day Round-up with a Chuck Wagon Lunch.  We want everyone to take part in this year’s event.  It’s promising to be a rootin’-tootin’ cowboy/girl good time.  So kids, parents, and all you Good Shepherd cowpokes, dress in your western attire and join the fun.

Lunch will be served after the second service chuck wagon style with chili and ham/beans.  Just rustle up a side dish or a dessert, bring it with you and join us for some cowpoke grub.

After lunch is when the real fun begins.  There will be horse and buggy rides, train rides, an inflatable bounce room, a snow-cone vendor, and games.  Of course it wouldn’t be Rally Day without the always exciting, and beautiful balloon launch.

So, pardners, corral your youngins’, and mosey on down to the fellowship hall for the Rally Day Round-up and Chuck Wagon lunch.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

We finished our study of 2 Peter today. Next week we will start on the Gospel of Mathew. This would be a great time to join us.

The topic of getting more involvement in bible studies was brought up.  Please feel free to come and share any thoughts or ideas you may have.
